AAH01 Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Sterile Processing Technician, where your expertise will ensure the safety and well-being of patients through meticulous sterilization and handling of medical instruments. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing, sterilizing, and maintaining surgical and medical equipment to the highest standards. Responsibilities Perform detailed decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, and packaging of surgical instruments and medical devices using proper sterile processing techniques. Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, sterilizers, and endoscope reprocessors to ensure all instruments meet sterilization standards. Manage inventory by accurately tracking supplies, restocking sterile processing areas, and ensuring proper storage of sterilized items. Reprocess endoscopes and other complex medical equipment following manufacturer guidelines and infection control protocols. Maintain comprehensive documentation of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking logs, and quality assurance records. Adhere strictly to infection prevention management practices, including aseptic techniques and infection control procedures to prevent cross-contamination. Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments for procedures while maintaining high standards of safety and sterility. Skills Extensive knowledge of sterile processing practices including medical instrument assembly, packaging, and sterilization procedures. Proficiency in inventory management systems for tracking supplies and sterilized equipment. Strong understanding of physiology and anatomy to properly handle specialized surgical instruments. Familiarity with medical terminology, equipment operation, and endoscope reprocessing techniques. Expertise in infection prevention management, healthcare infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques essential for patient safety. Ability to operate sterilization machinery efficiently while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality assurance in all aspects of sterile processing and surgical instrument handling.
