The Manager of Sterile Processing, Multi Campus provides leadership and operational oversight for the systems, processes, technology, and workflows that support the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, storage, tracking, and distribution of surgical instruments, medical devices, and related supplies of multiple SPDs across the health system. This role ensures high-quality, efficient, and compliant reprocessing services that support surgical and procedural areas, minimize infection risk, optimize instrument availability and turnaround times, and meet regulatory and accreditation standards. The position emphasizes systems management—including instrument tracking systems, quality monitoring, standardization of processes, performance improvement, resource utilization, and interdepartmental collaboration—while also managing personnel, budgets, and daily operations as needed.
EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE
Required:
High School Diploma. Five years experience in a Sterile Processing Department. Certification from a recognized Sterile Processing Program. Current Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician required. Must maintain certifications and meet ongoing competency requirements. Three years of supervisory, lead, or management experience in SPD required.
Preferred:
Experience with instrument tracking systems, case cart systems, inventory management, and performance improvement are highly desirable. Multi-site hospital system experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Comprehensive knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, sterilization modalities, decontamination processes, infection control, and regulatory standards. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), instrument tracking software, and other relevant systems; ability to analyze data and generate reports. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, work independently and collaboratively, and drive continuous improvement.
