Our client is currently seeking a Central Sterile Tech Position Summary The Sterile Processing Supervisor is responsible for directing, planning, and coordinating the daily operations of the Sterile Processing Department to support patient care and surgical services. This role oversees the decontamination, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. The position also manages operating room inventory levels, equipment maintenance and repair processes, and departmental staffing resources. The Sterile Processing Supervisor is responsible for driving operational efficiency, maintaining quality standards, supporting staff development, and ensuring supplies and equipment are readily available to meet patient care needs while maintaining cost-effective inventory practices. Education Required High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program. Bachelor's Degree in Surgical Technology or related field.

Preferred Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of Sterile Processing experience. Previous experience as a Scrub Technician or Surgical Technician in a hospital setting. Certifications Preferred Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST). Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT). Certified Surgical Technologist (CST). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficient in computer systems, software applications, and web-based platforms. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities. Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented with strong leadership capabilities. Ability to train, mentor, and develop staff members. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments. Analytical skills with the ability to evaluate supply utilization and optimize inventory levels. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call schedules, and travel between facilities as required. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily operations of the Sterile Processing Department and support the preoperative care process. Lead, coach, and develop sterile processing staff while promoting a culture of safety, quality, and accountability. Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment. Manage inventory levels of surgical supplies, instrumentation, and equipment to meet patient care demands while controlling costs. Oversee the handling, tracking, and reporting of inventory transactions. Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair activities to ensure equipment readiness and operational efficiency. Monitor department productivity, quality metrics, and regulatory compliance standards. Collaborate with perioperative and clinical teams to ensure seamless support of surgical services. Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, accreditation, and regulatory requirements. Promote patient safety, employee safety, infection prevention, and privacy standards. Adapt communication and service delivery to meet the needs of diverse patient populations. Participate in process improvement initiatives and operational planning. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Physical Requirements Ability to perform heavy work , including: Exerting 50-100 pounds of force occasionally.
