Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to join our healthcare team. The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. The ideal candidate ensures compliance with infection prevention standards while supporting safe and efficient patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Decontaminate, clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment. Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage before assembly. Assemble and package instrument trays according to manufacturer specifications and hospital protocols. Operate sterilization equipment, including steam autoclaves and low-temperature sterilizers. Monitor and document sterilization cycles and maintain accurate processing records. Distribute sterile supplies and instruments to operating rooms and clinical departments. Maintain inventory levels and restock sterile supplies as needed. Follow AAMI, OSHA, CDC, and facility infection control guidelines. Report damaged or malfunctioning instruments and equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe Sterile Processing Department.
Requirements:
Must be HSPA certified for at least 2 years BLS (AHA) HSPA (IAHCSMM)
COVID REQUIRED
Prior travel experience preferred
Shift:
5x8 hour 3:00 PM - 11:30
PM Weekend Requirements:
Yes HC1
Pay:
$28.00 - $30.00 per hour
License/Certification:
HSPA certification for at least 2 years (Required) BLS Certification from AHA (Required)
