Key Qualifications:
Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CBSPD or IAHCSMM). Previous experience working as a Sterile Processing Technician in a healthcare setting. In-depth knowledge of sterilization processes, decontamination, and infection prevention practices. Familiarity with best practices for processing surgical instruments and medical equipment. Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols. Strong organizational and time management skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
Clean, sterilize, assemble, and distribute surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with facility guidelines. Monitor and operate sterilization equipment, ensuring correct cycle settings and biological testing. Document sterilization processes and maintain accurate tracking of trays and supplies. Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and integrity before and after sterilization. Restock and maintain inventory of sterile supplies in the operating and procedure rooms. Adhere to proper infection control procedures to minimize the risk of cross-contamination. Collaborate with surgical and nursing staff to address instrument needs effectively.
