  • Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team.
The SPD Technician will play a critical role in the sterilization of all instruments for surgical procedures, ensuring sterility and infection prevention. This position requires a thorough understanding of surgical instruments, especially orthopedic instruments. This person must have knowledge of current AAMI standards and ensure that the center goes the extra mile to ensure that all instruments are exceding requirements. This is for a brand-new orthopedic surgery center, orthopedic experience required! Duties Preparing instruments for surgery and properly cleaning instruments after surgery. Assist surgical team with all instrument needs. Ensure all surgical instruments are accounted for before and after procedures. Take ownership of the SPD department, ensuring that no corners are cut, but that every set is processed according to current infection prevention guidelines. Maintain accurate sterilization records and documentation related to SPD. Communicate with surgeons and surgical team to ensure that all instruments, including specialty instruments for the surgeons are ordered and ready for surgery. Monitor the surgical schedule and communicate with vendors to ensure all instruments are ready for surgery. Stay informed about new technologies, techniques, and best practices in surgical care. Skills Strong knowledge of human physiology and anatomy. Proficiency in infection control practices within SPD setting. Experience in Ambulatory Surgery Center is preferred. Experience in orthopedic surgery a must. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team. Strong attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure.
