Under general direction of Surgical Services Leadership, supervises employees engaged in reprocessing reusable surgical instrumentation, stocking and distributing sterile supplies to assigned areas.PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: 1. Ensures adequate inventory and supervises employees engaged in decontamination, assembly, inspection, sterilization, high level disinfection and case cart builds, and related other duties as needed. 2. Conducts daily evaluations of inventory stock within the department. Communicates and escalates issues to OR and Supply Chain leadership as necessary. Orders new and replacement instrumentation as needed. 3. Schedules staff work assignments and ensures appropriate staffing levels. 4. Periodically completes audits of work areas and work product to ensure the department is meeting specified quality and control standards. 5. Demonstrates equipment operation and work techniques as required. 6. Accountable for leading, developing and ensuring the effectiveness of CSR staff members and their output. 7. Facilitates continuous improvement through collaboration with Surgical Services leadership, physicians and other departments as needed. 8. Coordinates case cart building including but not limited to, generation of the daily needs list, case cart builds and returns to stock. 9. Participates in performance evaluations for and issues corrective action to staff members in collaboration with Surgical Services leadership. 10. Conducts in-service training sessions and daily huddles for staff to improve departmental operating efficiency and communication. 11. Coordinates the receipt of loaner instrumentation with vendors. 12. Assists with the generation of PeopleSoft numbers and bin locations within the department. 13. Maintains regulatory readiness of the department in conjunction with Supply Chain Leadership and OR Leadership. 14. Participation in daily Surgical Services huddles. 15. Participates in monthly staff meetings and responds to the needs and concerns of staff. 16. Arranges for the repair or replacement of scopes, power equipment, robotic instruments, etc. QualificationsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree preferred. Two years of experience as a Surgical Technologist or Sterile Reprocessing Technician required. Previous supervisory experience preferred.CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED
: Certified Sterile Professing and Distribution Tech (CSPDT), OR Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), OR Certified Surgical Technologist; AND must obtain a CSPDT or CRCST within 12 months.
