Monday

• Friday 8:30am-5:00pm On Call

• a full-service acute care hospital in Farmington as well as a rural emergency hospital in Bonne Terre.

Parkland Health Center provides quality primary and secondary level inpatient and outpatient services to the people of St. Francois County and surrounding areas in southeastern Missouri. In addition, Parkland's Farmington campus offers a full continuum of inpatient and medical-surgical and intensive care, obstetrics and emergency services, along with a wide variety of outpatient services including oncology services, an infusion center, a wound care clinic, and the Huckstep Heart and Lung Center. Bonne Terre is a Rural Emergency Hospital providing emergency services and outpatient services including medical observation, lab, radiology, and sleep study.

• The Surgical Services Department provides pre-op and post-op inpatient care to those patients undergoing specialty surgical procedures in the areas of abdominal solid organ transplant, vascular surgery, hepatobiliary, trauma, ear-nose and throat, and orthopedic procedures.

Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The Sterile Processing Technician performs a variety of central sterile processing functions, which include the decontamination, preparation, sterilization and distribution of sterile surgical instrumentation to the operating room (OR) and other areas throughout the hospital. Required to maintain and control both sterile and non-sterile supplies, and identify and remedy equipment and process failures and hazards while maintaining the appropriate and complete records. Responsibilities Assembles and processes instruments sets, trays, supplies and linen; prioritizes trays and tasks according to the surgery schedule. Utilizes and troubleshoots steam sterilizers. Follows proper techniques and procedures to ensure the integrity of the sterilization process. Disassembles, decontaminates, and processes instrumentation according to manufacturer and industry standards. Ensures instrumentation is reassembled correctly and functioning properly. BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
