Your expertise will support patient care by meticulously sterilizing, inspecting, and managing surgical tools to uphold the highest standards of infection control. Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and assemble surgical instruments and medical devices, ensuring all items meet strict sterilization standards. Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and washer-disinfectors with precision and adherence to protocols. Maintain accurate inventory management of sterile supplies, tracking instrument usage and reprocessing cycles efficiently. Follow strict aseptic techniques during cleaning, sterilization, and packaging processes to prevent contamination. Document sterilization procedures meticulously, including batch records and maintenance logs for compliance purposes. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments for scheduled surgeries and procedures. Stay informed about updates in sterilization procedures, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to surgical instrumentation. Skills Strong knowledge of sterile processing techniques and infection control protocols. Proficiency in inventory management systems for tracking supplies and equipment. Solid understanding of anatomy and physiology to identify appropriate instrument handling and processing needs. Familiarity with medical terminology used in surgical environments for effective communication. Expertise in aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment during instrument reprocessing. Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining high attention to detail under pressure. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
