In this role, you will support physicians, nurses, and clinical staff in delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate care to adult surgical patients throughout the perioperative process. The ideal candidate is highly organized, patient-focused, and able to work in a fast-paced surgical environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail. Candidates must be a Certified Medical Assistant and possess a current BLS certification. This position primarily serves an adult patient population within a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center. Duties & Responsibilities Perform patient intake procedures including obtaining medical history, documenting allergies, medications, and vital signs. Prepare patients for surgical procedures and assist nursing staff with pre-operative and post-operative workflow. Assist physicians, nurses, and anesthesia providers with patient care activities as directed. Prepare and stock patient care areas, exam rooms, and procedure rooms. Ensure clinical areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with infection control standards. Assist with patient transport and positioning when needed. Accurately document patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times. Support discharge workflow including patient instructions and coordination with nursing staff. Assist with inventory, supplies, and daily clinical readiness tasks. Participate in maintaining regulatory and accreditation readiness standards. Requirements Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) . Current BLS certification required . Experience in a surgical center, outpatient clinic, or healthcare setting preferred. Experience with adult patient populations preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment. Knowledge of medical terminology and infection control practices. Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams. EMR experience preferred; knowledge of SIS EMR is a plus. Preferred Qualifications Ambulatory Surgery Center experience preferred. Experience in pre-op, PACU, orthopedic, pain management, or procedural settings is a plus.
