Job Description
Sterile Processing Technicans prepare surgical instruments and equipment for use in operating, procedure and endoscopy rooms. The technician decontaminates and prepares for sterilization, all trays, instrumentation and equipment used at the surgery center and reprocesses instrumentation between cases in a timely manner. Performs regular equipment checks such as autoclave QI programs and maintains records/logs. Assists in moving and positioning of patients, as time allows. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment, particularly in tum-over of the surgery suites between cases, assisting with terminal cleaning at the end of the schedule. Sterile Processing Certification required within 6 months of hire date.
