Compensation Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Central Sterilization Position Summary Summary:
The Central Sterile Technician I decontaminates, reprocesses, and sterilizes surgical instrumentation and collects, cleans, and distributes patient care equipment throughout the organization.
Qualifications Responsibilities:
Education Required Must complete in-house orientation program Minimum High School diploma Experience And Skills Speaks, reads and writes English Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and basic medical/surgical supplies. Knowledge of sterilization and decontamination procedures. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Excellent communication skills. Prior experience as an OR/Central Sterile/ Surgical Technician and/or SD Technician preferred. License/Certifications Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST)•, or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) Certification in central sterile processing required
Provisional Certification:
400 hours of on the job training must be completed within 4 months of hire Working Conditions Other information: Working Conditions Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn
Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally and /or up to 30 lbs of force frequently and/or up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
Repetitive Motion:
Substantial movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking. Pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and feeling.
Visual Acuity Requirements:
Worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and assembly of parts at distances close to the eyes. Worker is subject to environmental conditions, including temperature changes. Worker is subject to hazards, such as exposure to high heat and chemicals.
