Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Central Sterile Technician to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities Perform sterilization procedures on surgical instruments, endoscopes, and medical equipment following strict aseptic techniques and sterilization protocols. Assemble, package, and label sterile medical instruments accurately to ensure readiness for surgical procedures. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies and medical instruments, including tracking usage and reordering supplies as needed to prevent shortages. Conduct decontamination processes on used instruments, ensuring thorough cleaning and proper handling to eliminate pathogens. Reprocess endoscopes and other complex medical devices according to manufacturer guidelines and infection control standards. Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory logs for compliance and quality assurance purposes. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure all sterile processing activities meet healthcare infection prevention and control standards. Experience Proven experience in sterile processing or central sterile services within a healthcare setting. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and infection control principles relevant to surgical instrument handling. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical equipment operation, and sterilization methods used in hospitals or clinics. Demonstrated ability to perform aseptic techniques accurately during instrument assembly and reprocessing procedures. Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention practices, including sterilization validation and endoscope reprocessing protocols. Ability to manage inventory efficiently while adhering to safety standards for sterile processing environments. Certification in sterile processing or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training or coursework is advantageous.
