Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper sterilization, decontamination, and preparation of surgical instruments and medical equipment to uphold the highest standards of patient safety and infection control. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of sterile processing procedures, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, enabling them to effectively manage instrument reprocessing and inventory functions. Duties Perform decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, and packaging of surgical instruments and medical devices with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques. Reprocess endoscopes and other complex medical equipment following established sterilization protocols to ensure safety and functionality. Manage inventory levels efficiently by tracking supplies, ordering necessary items, and maintaining accurate records to support operational continuity. Ensure compliance with infection prevention standards by implementing strict sterilization procedures and infection control practices. Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and sterilizers correctly, monitoring cycles for quality assurance. Conduct routine quality checks on processed instruments to verify cleanliness, functionality, and proper packaging. Maintain detailed documentation of sterilization processes, instrument tracking, and equipment maintenance for regulatory compliance. Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate timely instrument availability for scheduled procedures. Follow all safety protocols related to handling contaminated materials and medical waste disposal. Stay current with evolving sterile processing guidelines and participate in ongoing training on best practices.
Must-Have Requirements:
3+ years of SPD experience Active CRCST certification
BLS/BCLS CRCST
