Job Summary- PART-TIME 3-10hr shift The Sterile Processing Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare environment by ensuring that all surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained. This position requires a keen attention to detail and adherence to strict protocols to ensure patient safety and compliance with health regulations. The technician will work closely with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to support the overall efficiency of medical operations. Duties Clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment according to established protocols. Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and ensure proper functioning through routine checks. Maintain accurate inventory records of sterile supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels are available for surgical procedures. Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during the handling of sterile items. Collaborate with healthcare staff to understand specific needs for surgical procedures and adjust inventory accordingly. Follow safety guidelines and infection control practices to maintain a clean working environment. Document all sterilization processes and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. Requirements Knowledge of sterile processing techniques and infection control practices. Familiarity with aseptic technique, anatomy, medical terminology, and physiology. Strong organizational skills with experience in inventory management. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for collaboration with medical staff. Certification or training in sterile processing is preferred but not mandatory.
