Job Description
Cleveland Dental Institute Schedule:
Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM Cleveland Dental Institute is seeking a Sterilization Technician to support clinical operations by ensuring proper cleaning, sterilization, and preparation of dental instruments and equipment. This role is essential to patient safety and regulatory compliance. Candidates who are willing and able may have the opportunity to cross-train as a Dental Assistant. Key Responsibilities Clean, disinfect, and sterilize dental instruments and equipment in accordance with CDC, OSHA, and infection control standards Maintain sterilization logs and documentation Prepare and organize instruments for clinical procedures Monitor and maintain sterilization equipment and supplies Ensure treatment rooms are stocked and ready for use Follow safety protocols and infection prevention policies Support clinical staff as needed Cross-train as a Dental Assistant, if willing and qualified, to assist with chairside support and clinical procedures May be asked on occasion to assist at neighboring Cleveland Dental Institute locations Required Qualifications High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English for safety, compliance, and documentation Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols Ability to work full-time, Monday through Friday Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks Professional, reliable, and team-oriented approach Successful completion of a background check is required Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in sterilization, dental, or medical setting Knowledge of infection control and sterilization standards Dental Assistant certification or interest in Dental Assisting Radiology certification (preferred if cross-training as a Dental Assistant) BLS/CPR certification (preferred if cross-training) Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Life insurance 401(k) with employer match Paid Time Off (PTO) Federal holidays off Promotion from within and career growth opportunities Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the clinic for extended periods Ability to bend, reach, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds Ability to perform repetitive motions, including hand and wrist movements Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively to perform job duties safely Ability to work in a clinical environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, and bodily fluids, using appropriate protective equipment Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Cleveland Dental Institute is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with all applicable federal and Ohio employment laws.
