Job Description

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Responsible for maintaining supplies, handling instruments and equipment in the Operating Room. Assists with cleaning the operating rooms during room turnover, transporting patients and stocking supplies.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Operating Room of Surgery provides intraoperative care to surgical and procedural sedation patients. We provide service for the patient population of pediatrics, adolescents, adult and elderly patients. We work with a variety of provider specialties in caring for people going home that day or are being admitted to the hospital.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent required. Healthcare Provider Level BLS required upon hire. Central Services National Certification preferred. Previous hospital experience in a similar position preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Thorough knowledge of sterile instrument processing and basic operating room practice. Basic knowledge of sterile technique. Ability to process and sterilize instruments and anesthesia equipment. Basic knowledge of use of sterilization equipment. Basic knowledge of instruments and surgery supplies. Time Management
  • Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending issues. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in dynamic fast-paced environments and under pressure. Problem Solving
