Philadelphia Technician Training Institute (PTTI) is seeking a knowledgeable and student-focused Central Processing & Sterile Processing Instructor to provide classroom and hands-on laboratory instruction to students enrolled in the CPS program. The Instructor is responsible for delivering the approved curriculum, demonstrating proper sterile processing techniques, maintaining an engaging and professional learning environment, and preparing students with the technical knowledge and practical skills necessary to enter the sterile processing profession.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver classroom and hands-on laboratory instruction in accordance with PTTI's approved CPS curriculum and lesson plans. Teach sterile processing concepts and procedures, including decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, distribution, infection prevention, and quality assurance. Demonstrate proper use of sterile processing equipment, instruments, supplies, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Prepare students to demonstrate required hands-on competencies and industry-standard practices. Maintain organized lesson plans and prepare instructional materials for assigned courses. Ensure all required curriculum topics, assignments, laboratory activities, assessments, and competencies are completed within established timeframes. Maintain accurate student attendance, grades, progress records, and other required academic documentation. Monitor student academic performance and provide additional instruction, coaching, or remediation when needed. Create an engaging classroom environment that encourages student participation, professionalism, accountability, and career readiness. Maintain appropriate classroom management and address student concerns in accordance with school policies. Communicate student academic, attendance, behavioral, or performance concerns to the CPS Department Lead and appropriate school personnel. Maintain a clean, organized, professional, and safe laboratory environment. Ensure students follow laboratory safety procedures, infection prevention practices, and PPE requirements. Participate in department meetings, instructor training, professional development, and curriculum-related activities. Work collaboratively with the CPS Department Lead, Quality Control Specialist, Student Services, and other school departments. Participate in classroom observations and incorporate coaching or feedback to continuously improve instructional effectiveness. Maintain current knowledge of sterile processing practices, technology, terminology, and industry standards. Work with Career Services in ensuring students are prepared for externship Perform other instructional and departmental duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Professional experience in Central Processing/Sterile Processing required. Strong knowledge of sterile processing principles, procedures, instrumentation, infection prevention, sterilization methods, and quality standards. Current sterile processing certification such as CRCST required Previous teaching, training, mentoring, or supervisory experience preferred. Ability to effectively teach both classroom concepts and hands-on technical skills. Strong communication, organization, classroom management, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with students from diverse educational and professional backgrounds. Commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism, safety, instructional quality, and student success. Experience working in higher education, post-secondary schools or trade schools preferred
