Category Nursing - Sterile Processing Tech Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a Sterile Processing Technician specializing in maintaining critical infection control standards. This contract role focuses on ensuring all surgical instruments and medical equipment are decontaminated, assembled, and sterilized to meet regulatory and facility guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience:
Current Sterile Processing Technician certification (CRCST or equivalent) Prior experience as a Sterile Processing Technician within a healthcare or hospital setting Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection prevention protocols Proficient in operating autoclaves, washers, ultrasonic cleaners, and other sterilization equipment Ability to follow detailed instructions and accurately document processes Excellent organizational and communication skills Capacity to stand for extended periods and handle physical aspects of the role safely
Key Responsibilities:
Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical devices Operate and monitor sterilization and disinfection equipment according to manufacturer instructions and safety standards Perform quality checks on instrument trays and equipment to ensure functionality and cleanliness Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, loads, biological and chemical monitoring results Assist with inventory management, including restocking and ordering supplies Collaborate with nursing staff, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care Adhere strictly to infection control procedures and contribute to overall patient safety Benefits of this opportunity may include industry-standard healthcare coverage, professional development, and the chance to gain experience in a dynamic hospital environment.
