Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper sterilization, decontamination, and preparation of medical instruments and equipment used in patient care. Your expertise will help maintain the highest standards of infection prevention and control, supporting safe surgical procedures and overall healthcare quality. This position offers an engaging opportunity to contribute directly to patient safety through meticulous processing and management of sterile supplies. Responsibilities Assemble, inspect, and package sterile medical instruments and surgical tools with precision, adhering to strict aseptic techniques. Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and sterilizers to ensure all instruments meet sterilization standards. Decontaminate used instruments by following established protocols for cleaning, disassembly, and inspection. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies, ensuring accurate tracking, restocking, and proper storage of medical equipment and instruments. Reprocess endoscopes and other complex medical devices according to manufacturer guidelines and infection control standards. Maintain detailed documentation of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking logs, and quality assurance records. Collaborate with healthcare staff to facilitate timely delivery of sterile supplies for surgical procedures while upholding infection prevention management practices. Qualifications Proven experience in sterile processing or a related healthcare environment with knowledge of medical instrument sterilization and handling. Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control protocols. Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and the operation of sterilization equipment. Specific eyecare knowledge is preffered. Ability to perform detailed inspection and assembly of surgical instruments while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage inventory efficiently and accurately document processing activities. Knowledge of endoscope reprocessing procedures and surgical instrument handling is highly desirable. Certification in sterile processing or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain relevant certifications is a plus.
