Know Your Team:
Physicians Surgical Hospitals includes two surgical centers
  • Panhandle Surgical Hospital and Quail Creek Surgical Hospital, and one physical therapy center
  • Quail Creek Physical Therapy
  • and a state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging center, Advanced Imaging Center of Amarillo.
Responsibilities A Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) is responsible for decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, sterilizing, and distributing medical instruments and equipment used in healthcare settings. This role is crucial in preventing infections and ensuring patient safety by maintaining strict sterilization standards.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
High School (or GED equivalent) diploma. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Completion of a Sterile Processing Technician certification program. Certification through CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) or IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management)
