Job Summary and Qualifications As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your focus on safety and attention to detail helps protect patients and empowers a team that's committed to the care and improvement of human life - one surgery at a time. What you will do in this role: Demonstrates overall ability to prioritize and organize time, evidenced by ability to complete work assignment within assigned shift, therefore controlling overtime. Manages supplies and equipment effectively and efficiently. Demonstrates knowledge of sterile technique. Assists in the development of policies and procedures specific to CPD. Functions within parameters of job description, educational preparation, and documented competency levels. Carries out known tasks to completion without continued reminders. Applies and adheres to hospital and departmental policies/protocols in daily routine. Actively participates in performance improvement activities. Practices hospital infection control policies. Demonstrates proficiency in performance of job-related technical skills. Uses skills to assist supervisor and preceptors in orientation of new employees. Performs special assignments and duties as requested and/or according to educational training. Demonstrates familiarity with capabilities of information management system (Meditech). Shares knowledge with staff when problem solving.

What qualifications you will need:

Prior CPD experience Preferred. One year in OR setting Preferred. Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Tech (CSPT), or Certified Registered Central Service Technician is Preferred. (CRCST) Certified Registered Central Service Technician, or (CSPDT) Cert Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date.
