About the Role The Sterile Processing Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising the activities required to meet the sterile instrument and surgical equipment processing needs of the facility and/or other areas as directed. Under general direction of the OR Manager, Sterile Processing Supervisor perform work ensuring that the operational performance and quality goals of the department are met.

POSITION'S ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervisors a team who oversees decontamination, preparation, sterilization, storage and distribution of all medical supplies, instruments, etc. in the facility. Accurately documents and monitors accuracy of others as outlined by regulatory agencies for reusable supplies, instruments, procedure trays and sterile linen. Responsible for ensuring correct procedures are followed throughout the facility pertaining to decontamination and sterilization which is reported to the infection control representative. May decontaminates and sterilizes instruments, medical supplies, and equipment, and assembles, wraps and sterilizes trays of instruments. Follows proper Standard Precautions while in decontamination and sterilization areas. Monitors biological and chemical wash solution to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and medical equipment. Sorts mismatched sets of instruments, trays, and medical equipment and makes them available to sterile processing customers in a timely manner. Restocks, labels, and maintains inventory, submits requisitions, collects, and distributes instruments, trays, crash carts, and facility medical equipment. Performs environmental maintenance duties and assists in maintaining inventory levels in sterile processing, the operating room, and in equipment storage areas. Verifies that equipment functions properly, requisitions for equipment maintenance, repair, or replacement, and removes defective equipment. Maintains a clean work area. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and quality improvement, safety, and environmental and infection control standards. Communicates appropriately using good interpersonal skills. Set clear goals and expectations; provide regular coaching, feedback, and performance reviews. Develop talent through mentoring, training and career development initiatives. Promote a collaborative and engaging work environment that aligns with company values. Manage conflict and make timely decisions to maintain team focus and performance. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and development conversations. Approve timecards, schedules, time-off requests, and other administrative HR functions. Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and safety regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Associates degree, preferred. Three (3) years of Sterile Processing/OR experience required. CRCST and/or SPD certification required. Knowledge of

JCAHO, OSHA, DHS, AAMI
