Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Sterile Equipment Tech Lead, you will perform routine tasks relating to the decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies, while leading and instructing personnel and ensuring compliance. Every day you will operate and monitor sterilization equipment, maintain records, communicate with departments to ensure smooth workflow, and assure daily task assignments are completed. You will also be involved in staff training and competency, participate in hospital-wide educational projects, and may assume supervisory responsibility in the absence of leadership. To be successful in this role, you will possess expertise in sterile processing, strong leadership and instructional skills, and meticulous attention to detail in maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards.

Directs the daily task assignment for completion of work each day. Responsible for assigning, instructing and checking the work of others. Prioritizes and reassigns staff and work making adjustments to meet unusual production needs. Provides input on staffing levels to provide support services required by the hospital. Cleans, decontaminates, inspects, assembles, and wraps or packages supplies and instruments using proper techniques and procedures and sterilizes supplies and instruments using the prescribed method (e.g. steam, immediate use sterilization). Understands the basic principles of all sterilization equipment used in the department including the automatic endoscope reprocessing system. Operates various sterilizers including both steam and hydrogen peroxide sterilizers and is proficient in high level disinfection and validates the proper functioning of all equipment using established mechanical and biological monitors. Job Requirements Required High School Diploma/G.E.D. One (1) year of sterile equipment processing Knowledge of all regulatory guidelines and standards of practices as it relates to AAMI, AORN, JC and OSHA Certified Registered Central Services Tech Or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) Upon hire, or within one (1) year of hire or transfer, must obtain one (1) of the following: CIS, CSIS, CER, CFER, CHL, CSPM, CASSPT
