Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. This vital role involves the preparation, sterilization, and management of surgical instruments and medical equipment to ensure patient safety and uphold the highest standards of infection prevention. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of sterile processing procedures, medical terminology, and infection control practices. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to patient care quality through meticulous instrument handling, sterilization, and inventory management. Responsibilities Perform decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, and packaging of surgical instruments and medical devices in accordance with established sterilization protocols. Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and sterilizers to ensure proper sterilization of all instruments. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies and medical equipment, ensuring adequate stock for surgical procedures. Reprocess endoscopes and other specialized medical instruments following manufacturer guidelines and infection control standards. Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and quality assurance documentation. Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques and infection prevention measures during all processing activities. Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Support ongoing staff training on sterilization procedures, infection control policies, and new equipment usage. Assist in the identification and resolution of equipment malfunctions or contamination issues promptly.
