Job Summary Seeking an experienced Scrub and Sterile Processing Technician to support the Surgery Department and ensure surgical instruments and equipment are properly prepared, sterile, organized, and available for procedures. Responsibilities Prepare surgical instruments and equipment based on the planned procedure and surgeon preferences Scrub, gown, and glove team members and maintain sterile technique Set up and prepare the operating room for procedures Handle and check surgical instruments for proper function Perform surgical counts of sponges and sharps with the circulating nurse Assist the surgeon during procedures as needed Properly identify and preserve surgical specimens Clean and prepare the OR before and after procedures Clean, decontaminate, sterilize, and maintain surgical equipment Operate autoclaves, sonic washers, and other sterilization equipment Organize surgical instrument trays and maintain sterile supply inventory Check equipment for defects, leaks, or damaged parts Record sterilizer test results Maintain appropriate inventory and supplies Follow infection-control, medical asepsis, and safety protocols Assist with training and orientation of other personnel as needed Requirements Minimum 2 years of experience Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist training program , OR at least 1 year of OR scrub nursing experience Current BLS certification required Central Supply Technician certification is a plus Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and OR procedures Knowledge of sterile technique and medical asepsis Ability to properly handle specimens, cultures, and smears Ability to organize surgical trays and equipment Comfortable working with blood and body tissue

Pay:

$2,200.00 - $2,286.00 per week
