Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technologist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities Perform sterilization and reprocessing of surgical instruments, endoscopes, and other medical equipment following established protocols. Assemble, inspect, and package sterile instruments with precision to ensure readiness for surgical procedures. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies, monitor stock rotations, and reorder supplies as needed to prevent shortages. Conduct decontamination processes utilizing appropriate sterilization methods while adhering to infection prevention standards. Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and equipment maintenance logs. Execute aseptic techniques during instrument handling to prevent contamination. Support infection control initiatives by following healthcare infection prevention guidelines and protocols. Reprocess complex medical devices such as endoscopes with meticulous attention to detail. Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare staff to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments. Stay updated on best practices in sterile processing, infection prevention, and medical equipment sterilization. Skills Proven experience in sterile processing medical instrument assembly and packaging. Strong knowledge of inventory management within a healthcare setting. Familiarity with physiology and anatomy relevant to surgical procedures. Expertise in medical equipment sterilization techniques and endoscope reprocessing. Proficiency in decontamination procedures and infection control practices. Knowledge of medical terminology and medical equipment operation. Ability to implement aseptic techniques consistently during instrument handling. Understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control standards. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for recordkeeping. Effective communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
