- Oral Surgery Viridian Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is seeking a dependable, organized, and hardworking Sterilization Technician to join our clinical team.
This position plays an essential role in keeping our surgical practice running safely and efficiently by ensuring instruments, equipment, and treatment areas are properly cleaned, sterilized, stocked, and ready for patient care. This is a great opportunity for someone with dental or medical experience, as well as someone interested in getting started in the dental field. Previous sterilization or dental experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Responsibilities Clean, disinfect, package, and sterilize surgical instruments according to established infection-control protocols Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners Prepare instrument trays and surgical setups for procedures Maintain accurate sterilization records and perform required equipment testing Turn over and disinfect surgical rooms between patients Stock surgical rooms and monitor inventory of clinical and sterilization supplies Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient sterilization area Follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection-control, and office safety standards Assist the clinical team with maintaining smooth patient flow throughout the day Communicate supply or equipment concerns promptly to the appropriate team member Assist with additional clinical support duties as trained and needed What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Reliable and punctual Detail-oriented and able to follow established protocols consistently Organized and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment Comfortable being on their feet throughout the workday Able to prioritize tasks and keep up with a busy surgical schedule A team player who is willing to jump in where needed Professional and respectful when interacting with patients and coworkers Able to take direction, accept feedback, and learn new processes Committed to cleanliness, patient safety, and infection control Qualifications Previous dental, oral surgery, medical, or sterilization experience preferred Registered Dental Assistant Certification Knowledge of infection-control and sterilization procedures is a plus Dental experience is not required for the right candidate — training can be provided Ability to lift, bend, reach, and stand for extended periods Why Join Viridian OMS?
