Responsibilities Perform decontamination, sterilization, and reprocessing of surgical instruments, endoscopes, and other medical equipment using approved sterilization methods and equipment. Assemble, inspect, and package sterile medical instruments with precision, ensuring all items meet quality standards. Manage inventory levels of sterilized supplies, monitor stock rotation, and document usage to maintain optimal stock levels. Follow strict aseptic techniques and infection control procedures during all stages of instrument handling to prevent contamination. Conduct routine quality checks on sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and washer-disinfectors, ensuring proper functioning and calibration. Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, decontamination processes, and equipment maintenance in compliance with healthcare regulations. Collaborate with surgical teams and healthcare staff to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments for procedures while adhering to safety protocols.
