Responsibilities The Pathologist Assistant assists pathologists in the preparation and performance of human surgical specimen dissection and performance of human postmortem examinations. Assists with and/or performs gross dictation of complex surgical specimens. As directed by supervising pathologist(s), manager, or administrator, may assume other responsibilities including work flow management, research, and/or teaching duties. Assesses data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interprets information relative to the patient's age-specific needs. extension program. Qualifications Graduate of a Masters Level approved Pathologists' Assistant program. PA(ASCP)

Additional Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, medical practices, and human anatomy. Focused attention to detail, communication skills, strong problem-solving capabilities, accountability. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span.
