Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Surgical Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance during various surgical procedures, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and optimal clinical outcomes. Your expertise will support the delivery of high-quality oral surgery and general dentistry services, contributing to a positive patient experience from start to finish. Summary of Essential Job Functions:
Prepares treatment room and executes proper tray set up by following prescribed procedures and protocols Follows infection control protocol in preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment Takes radiographs, digital scans, impressions, vital signs and assists the dentist during examinations and treatment Assists the dentist in the delivery IV sedation by continuously monitoring the patient and keeping proper records Maintains crash carts, assists the dentist and leads other assistants in planning for and responding to medical emergencies Monitors patients in recovery and reports changes in patient symptoms notifying the dentist as needed Provides pre and postoperative instructions as prescribed and directed by the dentist Records treatment, medical and dental histories and vital signs of patient in the patient's chart Ensures that patient records are accurate and complete, and that patient confidentiality is strictly maintained Ensures all operatories always have all necessary supplies Monitors and organizes outgoing/incoming patient updates referrals Conducts work in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety and OSHA guidelines Maintains an appropriate office environment Travel to all five offices in central valley as needed. Assists with other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Current CPR Certification Radiation Safety Certificate (X-ray license) Knowledge of the four phases of anesthesia Interest and ability to obtain Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant (OMSA) Certification Knowledge of vital signs monitoring techniques and equipment operation Successful completion of Dental Assisting Program Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of dental terminology, oral surgery instrumentation Possess fundamental typing skills to efficiently and accurately document clinical notes, patient information and procedural details Knowledge of implant systems, sinus kits, bone graft materials, and other like materials/systems Knowledge of CritiCare monitor; including placement of all monitors Strong knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures specific to a dental office environment Good communication skills Ability to perform detailed work according to established formats and protocols
Preferred Requirements:
One (1) year of experience in an oral surgery or periodontal office as a dental assistant Dental Sedation Assistant (DSA) certification Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant (OMSA) certification Join us to be part of a passionate team committed to delivering outstanding patient care through skilled assistance and compassionate service!

$18.00 - $24.00 per hour
