Responsibilities Knowing the different types of procedures performed in an oral surgery office and the different instrument and tray setups for each type of procedure. Experience as a dental assistant is a plus. Making sure patients are comfortable and treating them in a compassionate and caring manner Perform duties efficiently and effectively, especially when assisting the doctor in surgery Must have knowledge of disinfecting and sterilization techniques Inform the doctor about any problems or discrepancies that might arise Monitor patients' progress and keep records of treatments, surgeries or other medical events Attend to emergencies during surgeries Prepare patients for examinations and conduct routine procedures (taking xrays, measuring blood pressure, temperature, etc) Provide post operative treatment Collaborate effectively with team members Ordering supplies Skills Experience as a dental or medical assistant is preferred Problem solving skills and ability to multi-task Caring and compassionate Good communication skills High school diploma or GED Related keywords: physician assistant, nurse practitioner, dental assistant
