Surgical Coordinator/ Medical Assistant Location:
Boynton Beach, FL Vanguard Plastic Surgery Position Summary Vanguard Plastic Surgery is seeking an experienced and highly organized Surgical Coordinator to manage all aspects of surgical scheduling for our busy plastic and reconstructive surgery practice. This role is critical in ensuring smooth coordination between patients, providers, and surgical facilities, while maintaining accuracy and efficiency throughout the scheduling and authorization process. Key Responsibilities Coordinate surgical procedures with hospitals and surgery centers, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate. Obtain pre-authorizations and verify insurance coverage for all surgical procedures. Schedule pre-operative testing, physicals, and related appointments. Collect and record all required payments prior to procedures. Maintain organized and up-to-date surgical schedules, ensuring timely communication between providers, patients, and external partners. Collaborate with physicians, patients, and staff to deliver a seamless surgical experience. Identify opportunities to improve scheduling workflows and communication processes. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Coordinator or in a similar medical scheduling role. Prior experience in plastic or reconstructive surgery preferred. Strong understanding of medical terminology, insurance requirements, and authorization processes. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and perform accurately in a high-volume environment. Proficient in EHR/EMR systems and general office software. Education High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Language Requirements English required; bilingual preferred.
