A Surgical Assistant assists in operations, under the supervision of surgeons. May, in accordance with state laws, help surgeons to make incisions and close surgical sites, manipulate or remove tissues, implant surgical devices or drains, suction the surgical site, place catheters, clamp or cauterize vessels or tissue, and apply dressings to surgical site.

Job Description

Health First is seeking an experienced Surgical First Assist to support current and new surgeons as they continue to grow their practices. This role offers flexibility with numerous days available each month. The schedule is planned in advance, and candidates should be able to commit to at least 12 shifts per month . This is a shift-based position that may require travel between multiple hospital locations in a single day. The ideal candidate will have strong Operating Room experience and be comfortable supporting a variety of surgical procedures, including General Surgery, Bariatrics, Orthopedics, Gynecology, OB/GYN, Colon & Rectal Surgery, and Trauma cases.
Requirements:
Certified Surgical First Assist Robotics certification required Previous Operating Room experience required Ability to work across multiple hospital locations Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with surgeons and surgical teams This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Surgical First Assist seeking a flexible schedule while making an impact across a variety of surgical services.
