Assist during various procedures in oral surgery ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready. Take x-rays, including 3D scans, while maintaining compliance with dental sterilization procedures and radiation safety standards. Manage patient flow, verifying vital signs, updating medical records, and ensuring accurate medical documentation. Operate patient management software such as CareStack or Dentrix to schedule appointments, update medical records, and facilitate efficient clinic operations. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Support dental equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal functionality during procedures. Assist with dental instrument processing and sterilization to uphold high standards of infection control and safety. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Carestack for managing electronic health records. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry and oral surgery. Experience with dental x-ray techniques, including intraoral and extraoral imaging, utilizing appropriate safety measures. Familiarity with dental equipment operation, including 3D scanners and other advanced diagnostic tools. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to manage patient management software efficiently. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control policies to ensure a safe clinical environment. Ability to perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficient workflow. Strong organizational skills for managing medical records, documentation, and clinical supplies effectively.
