Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to assist in an office-based plastic surgery center and provide exceptional patient care. As a critical member of our plastic surgical team, the successful candidate will have a passion for helping others and the ability to work well under pressure. Surgical First Assistant Responsibilities & Duties Assist the surgeon during surgical procedures by anticipating their needs and providing necessary instruments and supplies Maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure and assist in preparation and draping of the patient Assist in exposure, retraction, and manipulation of tissues during surgery Assist in closure during breast lifts, arm lifts, abdominoplasties, etc. Suture and close incisions, as directed by the surgeon Communicate effectively with the surgical team, patient, and family members to ensure optimal patient outcomes Stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and technologies Ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and is properly maintained Surgical First Assistant Qualifications & Skills Certification as a Surgical First Assistant (CFA) Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field At least 2 years of experience in a plastic (body) surgical setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work well under pressure and handle a fast-paced environment Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy equipment Willingness to continue education and training Flexibility with scheduling, 3-4 PRN shifts/month
