A Surgical Assistant assists in operations, under the supervision of surgeons. May, in accordance with state laws, help surgeons to make incisions and close surgical sites, manipulate or remove tissues, implant surgical devices or drains, suction the surgical site, place catheters, clamp or cauterize vessels or tissue, and apply dressings to surgical site.

Deliver Direct Patient Impact:
Perform key surgical support tasks within your defined student scope of practice, contributing directly to safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care.
Support Strategic Healthcare Projects:
Collaborate on cross-functional departmental goals and special projects, driving initiatives that improve operational efficiency and clinical workflows.
Prioritize and Elevate Care:
Organize daily work assignments independently while proactively raising questions and issues to ensure high standards of safety and team communication.
Collaborate Across Teams:
Partner with experienced surgical staff on departmental assignments, gaining hands-on exposure while supporting the broader healthcare team's success. What minimum qualifications you'll need Licensure / Certification / Registration BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
