Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. No weekends or major holidays! Full benefits included! OrthoIndy Hospital South, located in Greenwood, Indiana, provides outpatient care and inpatient care, with four operating rooms and a 15-bed inpatient unit for patients undergoing more invasive procedures, such as disc replacement, spinal fusion or total hip and knee joint replacement. Other services include an urgent care, clinics, imaging and physical therapy. General Statement of Duties The Surgical Assistant performs a variety of tasks within the surgery department to assist nursing services. The duties of the Surgical Assistant includes, but is not limited to, restocking and ordering supplies/linens within the department; assisting with room turnover between procedures; and coordinating beds and carts for the patients.
Essential Duties:
Assists the surgical team with room turnover and termination. Assists with moving and positioning patient when needed. Assists in the cleaning and placement of equipment and furniture throughout the department using appropriate aseptic technique as directed. Assists in the cleaning of various areas of the department using appropriate aseptic technique. Obtains and maintains supplies for various areas of the department as directed. Responsible for reordering office supplies through the Purchasing department. Coordinates bed and carts as needed for patients being admitted to the hospital after surgery. Maintains linen and laundry supplies throughout the department. Stocks assigned carts on daily basis according to par level. Assists in patient care activities as directed by licensed personnel.
Requirements:
High school diploma/GED required 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare facility preferred Knowledge of patient care and aseptic technique preferred OrthoIndy is an Equal Opportunity Employer
