Overnight Veterinary Surgery Ward Nurse Buzzards Bay, MA Are you a veterinary technician or assistant looking to grow your skills in a collaborative, specialty environment? Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists (CCVS) is seeking Overnight Surgery Ward Nurses to join our teams in Buzzards Bay, MA. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in post-operative care, work closely with surgical teams, and be part of a hospital that values your professional development. About the Role Our Surgery Ward Nurses are an essential part of the overnight patient care team. In this role, you'll care for post-operative patients, ensuring their comfort and recovery throughout the night. You'll work closely with our surgical nurses, doctors, and assistants, contributing to high-quality care while developing your technical and clinical skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals early in their veterinary careers who are eager to learn and grow in the field of specialty medicine. Key Responsibilities Monitor and document patient vitals and comfort levels Administer oral and IV medications as directed by the surgical team Assist post-operative patients with mobility and comfort care Check catheter sites and bandages for cleanliness and security Communicate changes in patient status to the surgical team Maintain a clean and organized ward, including laundry and dishes Assist with patient restraint for radiographs as needed Schedule & Location Schedule is as follows: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 10:30pm to 7am Friday 11pm to 11am Weekend and holiday rotation required Initial training may occur during day or evening shifts What We Offer Salary range $39k/yr - $52k/yr, based on experience Shift differential Paid time off and holiday pay Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance FSA and HSA options 401(k) with company match Uniform allowance Trupanion pet insurance with company-paid premiums for two pets Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Access to our Incentivized Veterinary Nurse Training Program to support your ongoing learning and career advancement What We're Looking For Previous experience as a veterinary technician or assistant Confidence in administering oral and IV medications Ability to calculate medication dosages accurately Strong communication and time management skills A team-oriented mindset with a desire to learn and grow Physical ability to lift and restrain pets (up to 50 lbs) and be on your feet throughout the shift About Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists is the only emergency and specialty referral hospital serving Cape Cod and the Islands.
