A Surgical Assistant assists in operations, under the supervision of surgeons. May, in accordance with state laws, help surgeons to make incisions and close surgical sites, manipulate or remove tissues, implant surgical devices or drains, suction the surgical site, place catheters, clamp or cauterize vessels or tissue, and apply dressings to surgical site.

Hours:
40 hrs/week | 30-minute unpaid lunch
Duration:
6 months, with potential for temp-to-perm

Strong surgical scheduling or surgical coordination experience
Job Summary
The Surgical Scheduler plays an important role in coordinating surgical procedures and supporting daily hospital operations.
Responsibilities may include:
Surgical scheduling and coordination
Scheduling patient appointments
Answering phones and gathering screening information
Managing and relaying messages
Providing routine patient and staff information
Coordinating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associate's Degree in a related field preferred
5-7 years of administrative experience, preferably in healthcare
1-2 years supporting senior-level staff preferred
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Excellent verbal and written communication
Strong organization, multitasking, and attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Knowledge of hospital administration and healthcare regulations
Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
