- 2 years of Surgical First Assistant experience is required
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience are preferred... Are first-timers accepted? Yes… What is the weekend requirement? No regular weekend schedule is specified; weekend call is required... What is the call requirement?
- Weekday call is 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- Weekend call is 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- Everyone is expected to pick up a holiday call shift from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.... Will this traveler need to float within scope to meet facility needs/float between like units? No float requirement is indicated... Is this client open to accommodating block schedule? No... Are locals accepted? Yes, Lifebridge accepts local candidates... Which certifications are required?
- BLS is required
- NBSTSA certification is required
- CSFA, ABSA or similar is required What is the state licensure requirement? No Maryland state licensure requirement is specified... Are t any time off restrictions ? If so, what are they?
- The system will auto approve 14 days or less of RTO
- Every other winter and summer holiday are required and no RTO is approved

- The Surgical Assistant department includes PAs and Certified Surgical Assistants who support a wide variety of surgical cases
- Weekday, weekend and holiday call coverage is required... Any additional experience requirements?
- Must have broad Surgical First Assist experience
- Required case experience includes General Surgery, GYN, Neurosurgery/Spine, Orthopedics, Trauma and Urology
- Experience with total joints, breast procedures, plastics, rhinoplasty, laparoscopic procedures and robotic surgery is expected
- Robotic experience may include colorectal, gynecologic and urologic procedures
- First Assist skills should include tissue handling, clamping/cauterizing, suctioning/irrigation, wound closure, ligation, drainage tube placement and other intraoperative first-assist functions
- Aseptic technique, instrument processing, isolation precautions, laser safety and sterilization/disinfection experience are required.
