Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technician First Assistant to join our dynamic surgical team. This essential role involves providing direct assistance to surgeons during operative procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through precise technical support and adherence to safety protocols. The ideal candidate will bring comprehensive perioperative care expertise, including advanced knowledge of surgical techniques, anatomy, and infection control measures. Key Responsibilities:

Assist surgeons during a wide range of surgical procedures, including open, robotic, and minimally invasive techniques Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile and ready for use Maintain strict aseptic technique throughout procedures to prevent healthcare-associated infections Support perioperative patient management by monitoring vital signs, assessing physiological responses, and ensuring patient safety Facilitate discharge planning by coordinating with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals for post-surgical care instructions Utilize electronic health record (EHR) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems to document procedures accurately and efficiently Assist with complex surgeries in specialized areas such as trauma centers, pediatric units, ICU, and medical-surgical wards Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care from preoperative preparation through postoperative recovery Support the surgical team in advanced techniques including suturing, robotic assistance, and open surgical approaches Maintain comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and surgical techniques to anticipate surgeon needs effectively

MUST HAVE

BLS provider credentialed from the AHA obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS provider card from

AHA Prefered Credentials:

Surgical Assistant credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) High School Dimploma / GED with 2 years of experience or Associates degree or Technical degree required.

Shift Timings:

5x8s or 4x10s available, Mon

•Fri, 6:20am earliest start No weekend coverage needed

•no overnight call required May need to work past scheduled shift end to complete cases. Potential to flex off hours later in the week to compensate if desired and procedure volume allows.
