II SURGICAL SERVICES

$17.85- 22.
- Provides support to other members of the team by obtaining and maintaining supplies, instruments, equipment, pharmaceuticals (excludes narcotics), positioning accessories, pre-cleaning of instruments and, scopes as needed.
- Ensures appropriate cleaning procedures are maintained and followed. Assists with turnover and cleaning of operating rooms and anesthesia machine and cart. Cleans and maintains, warmers and, refrigerators.
- Assists with transporting, transferring, and positioning patients.
- Performs errands to other departments as needed: laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, etc.
- Assists in case picking. Picking supplies and instrumentation for current day schedule, next day schedule, and add-on cases throughout day or night as appropriate.
- Stocking supplies, instruments, equipment on specialties carts and emergency carts.
- Demonstrate ability to maintain appropriate monitoring records for process improvement and quality controls as assigned. Utilizes performance improvement principles to assess and improve quality.
- Participates in orientation, training and/or precepting of new staff.
- Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory system and departmental requirements.

- Cross train to Anesthesia and other perioperative area locations (ex: Cath Lab, PACU)
- Equipment Preparation
- responsible for setting up and preparing specialty equipment (ex: trauma beds, anesthesia machines, pressure monitors, tourniquets and supplies.)
- Spike and prepare IV without additives
- Spike and set up Artlines
- Sterilization and Maintenance
- sterilize and maintain anesthesia equipment to ensure a safe and sterile environment.
- Patient Monitoring
- They assist in applying and monitoring patient monitoring equipment, such as ECG, blood pressure monitors, and oxygen saturation devices. They will prepare and spike IV lines without additives.
- Airway Management
- Organizing and stocking difficult airway equipment (ex: glidescope, difficult airway cart). They help establish and secure patient's airway, which may involve assisting with intubation or using other airway management devices.
- Patient Care
- They provide direct patient care, such as comforting and calming patients as well as assisting with patient positioning and transfers.
- Supply Management
- They monitor and restock anesthesia supplies and equipment to ensure availability and adherence to safety standards.
- POC testing ISTAT/Glucometer Minimum Qualifications Education
- High School or GED Experience
- Level 1
- a brand-new applicant with no experience and needing fully trained
- Level 2
- Trained as an OR aide as well as cross trained to Anesthesia and other peri-op areas such as Cath Lab or PACU
- Level 3
- Fully trained in OR, fully cross trained and lead of specialty or service line Certifications/Licensures
