Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Surgical Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Duties Assist during various surgical procedures, including extractions, implant placement, gingival grafting, LANAP, and other procedures, by preparing and passing instruments and materials. Ensure all dental instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained according to infection prevention management protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems and 3D scanners, adhering to radiation safety standards. Manage patient records efficiently using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Open Dental, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Prepare treatment rooms with appropriate dental instruments, supplies, and materials while maintaining aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination. Monitor vital signs of patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and comfort. Provide comprehensive patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and supporting patients through their treatment journey with professionalism and compassion. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical confidentiality policies. Experience with dental sterilization procedures, infection control practices, and healthcare infection prevention standards. Familiarity with dental equipment such as dental x-ray machines and a 3D scanner. Ability to operate patient management software like Open Dental efficiently for scheduling and record keeping. Excellent communication skills.
