A major regional medical center in Elizabeth is seeking six full-time Advanced Practice Providers to support 24/7 coverage within its Obstetrical Services department. Offering 36-40 hour weekly schedules, flexible shift formats, block scheduling potential, and zero call obligations, this is an excellent opportunity for dedicated surgical APPs. The Opportunity Step into an active inpatient obstetrical unit, working collaboratively on shift alongside an attending OB/GYN physician and a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM).

Clinical Scope:

Deliver comprehensive inpatient obstetrical and surgical first-assist care, including: Labor & Delivery floor coverage and management Postpartum patient care and rounding OB/GYN emergency department consultations Surgical first-assisting for scheduled gynecological procedures and Cesarean sections Scrubbing into cases whenever surgical support is required

The Schedule:

Full-time commitment of 36 to 40 hours per week (minimum of three 12-hour shifts per week).

Shift Options:

Available combinations of 12-hour and 24-hour shifts across days, nights, and weekends.

Block Scheduling:

Consideration given to block coverage schedules.

Call Commitments:

Zero call responsibilities.

Staffing Structure:

One APP is scheduled per shift working alongside a dedicated OB attending physician and CNM.

Assignment & Credentialing:

Ongoing assignment with multiple openings; temporary privileges available upon receipt of completed credentialing documentation.

Candidate Requirements Credentials:

Active Nurse Practitioner (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) credentials. APNs must hold a current Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) certification.

Licensure:

Active, unencumbered New Jersey State License required at time of submission.

Clinical Experience:

Direct clinical background in OB/GYN and Labor & Delivery, alongside verified surgical first-assist experience.

Case Logs:

Mandatory submission of recent surgical first-assist case logs.

Availability:

Full-time availability with flexibility to work day, night, and weekend shifts.
