First shift Tues-Friday- 8am-6pm with On-Call duties About Us Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital is a full-service, 24-hour emergency and referral hospital dedicated to providing advanced veterinary care. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Surgical Sterile Processing Assistant to join our Sterile Processing Team. Position Overview The Surgical Sterile Processing Assistant plays a vital role in supporting our Surgery Department by ensuring all instruments, equipment, and surgical areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and sterilization. Key Responsibilities Decontaminate surgical instruments and suites after procedures Assemble and sterilize surgical instruments, packs, and supplies Prepare surgical setups for a variety of procedures including soft tissue, neurology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, cardiology, and general practice Maintain inventory of surgical instruments and supplies Perform daily cleaning and stocking of work areas Operate sterilization equipment including steam autoclaves and ethylene oxide gas sterilizers Follow all sterile processing and operating room protocols Qualifications Minimum 1 year of veterinary hospital experience or working knowledge of surgical instrumentation preferred Willing to train the right candidate Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently Excellent communication skills Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate across departments Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Benefits Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Company-paid short-term disability Life insurance Paid time off (PTO) Continuing education allowance Employee advancement program Uniform allowance Additional Information Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital is an equal opportunity employer.
