Chester County Oral Surgery & Dental Implants seeks a Surgical Assistant to support oral and maxillofacial procedures in our state-of-the-art West Chester practice. Responsibilities include preparing operatories, assisting chairside with dental implant placement, extractions, and IV sedation cases, maintaining sterile technique, taking radiographs, and providing pre- and post-operative patient education. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and a strong team player committed to patient safety, infection control, accurate charting, and continuous learning in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Responsibilities Prepare operatories and surgical trays for oral and maxillofacial procedures Assist chairside during dental implants, extractions, and other oral surgeries Maintain strict sterile technique and infection control protocols Monitor and support patients before, during, and after procedures as directed Take and process digital radiographs and cone beam CT scans Document treatment, materials, and medical histories accurately in charts or EMRProvide clear pre- and post-operative instructions and patient education Manage instrument sterilization, equipment maintenance, and inventory Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and front office to optimize workflow Support quality, safety, and patient satisfaction initiatives within the practice Required Skills Chairside surgical assisting Oral surgery instrumentation Sterilization and infection control Digital dental radiography Cone beam CT imaging basics IV sedation and anesthesia assistance Medical and dental charting/EMRVital signs monitoring Dental materials and implant systems familiarity OSHA and HIPAA compliance knowledge
