Job Description

Join Our Team as a Chairside/Surgical Dental Assistant at a Locally Owned Periodontal Office! Sunset Periodontics & Implant Dentistry in West Columbia is seeking a skilled and compassionate Chairside/Surgical Assistant to join Dr. Mize's team. We are a thriving, locally owned specialty practice focused on excellent patient care and teamwork. If you are detail-oriented, personable, and confident in your surgical assisting skills, we would love to hear from you.
Important:
Only candidates with a minimum of 2 years of chairside assisting experience will be considered for this position.
What You Will Do:
Assist Dr. Mize during periodontal, dental implants, and surgical procedures. Take high-quality diagnostic imaging (FMX, CBCT) and chart alongside Dr. Mize during examinations. Prepare and maintain clinical areas, including operatory set-up and breakdown. Take impressions and digital scans (Trios). Sterilize and disinfect instruments and manage tray setups. Provide clear and compassionate pre-op and post-op instructions to patients. Support the hygienist by assisting with perio charting and patient handoffs. Update patient medical history and clinical notes accurately. Ensure clinical equipment is cleaned and maintained on a regular schedule. Help create a welcoming, calming environment for our patients.

Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years chairside dental assisting experience
X-Ray Certification Preferred:
