Certification Disinfection procedures Registered Dental Assistant Clinical documentation Full Job Description Andrew Arango Oral & Facial Surgery is seeking an experienced, motivated, and dependable Oral Surgery Assistant to join our team. Our practice provides a unique opportunity to work in a specialized surgical environment with a strong focus on oral and maxillofacial surgery, including dentoalveolar procedures, IV sedation, orthognathic surgery, and TMJ surgery. We are looking for an assistant who is confident in a fast-paced surgical setting, works well as part of a team, and takes pride in providing an exceptional patient experience. Clinical Responsibilities Assist with IV sedation surgeries and other oral and maxillofacial procedures Monitor patients during treatment and recovery Prepare treatment rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, and medications Assist with patient intake, medical histories, and pre- and post-operative care Sterilize instruments and maintain proper infection-control protocols Maintain knowledge of oral surgery procedures, medications, instruments, materials, and techniques Perform iTero scans and assist with clinical records and documentation Restock operatories and maintain clinical organization Travel to local hospitals with the surgeon to assist with orthognathic and TMJ surgeries as needed Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients throughout their surgical experience Assist with additional clinical and administrative responsibilities as needed Qualifications Current Texas Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification required Oral surgery experience preferred Current CPR certification DAANCE certification preferred; certification assistance may be available if not currently certified Strong knowledge of infection control, sterilization, and OSHA standards Excellent organizational and multitasking skills Strong attention to detail Professional communication and interpersonal skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical environment Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Dependable, adaptable, and willing to assist wherever needed If you are an experienced dental or oral surgery assistant looking for an opportunity to expand your surgical experience and grow with a specialized practice, we encourage you to apply.
