You will need to get privileges in multiple hospitals and surgery centers we work at and be available for when we are on call. Reimbursement will be per case and much higher than the standard current rates. There is no set limit on potential income. This is a vital role dedicated to supporting surgical teams in delivering exceptional patient care. In this position, you will assist surgeons during a variety of procedures, ensuring optimal surgical outcomes through expert perioperative support. Your expertise in surgical techniques, sterile procedures, and patient safety will contribute to a high-quality, efficient operating room environment. Duties Assist surgeons during robotic, laparoscopic, and open general surgical procedures and surgeries and other operative techniques by providing precise instrument handling and tissue management Maintain strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to uphold hospital patient safety standards Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment in accordance with procedural requirements Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses throughout surgery, reporting any abnormalities promptly Support preoperative and postoperative patient care, including discharge planning and patient education as needed Document detailed medical records of surgical procedures, anesthesia notes, and intraoperative observations using electronic health record (EHR) systems Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in trauma centers, PICUs (Pediatric Intensive Care Units), ICUs (Intensive Care Units), and medical-surgical units to ensure seamless perioperative care Requirements Certification as a Surgical Assistant with demonstrated experience in Level I Trauma Centers and Level II Trauma Centers Proven expertise assisting in open surgical techniques, robotic surgeries, and emergency procedures within hospital environments Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and surgical techniques applicable across various specialties including pediatrics and critical care Hands-on experience working with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR systems for accurate documentation Critical care experience in ICU settings or acute care environments preferred Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are advantageous Familiarity with infection prevention protocols, aseptic technique, healthcare infection control practices, and hospital safety standards Excellent analysis skills for assessing patient needs and responding effectively during complex surgical situations Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to advancing surgical excellence through expert assistance and compassionate patient-centered care.
